Flexy developed a health-tracking app for The Mirror Ring, a device created by Mirror Health. The challenge was to craft an intuitive, user-centered app design for older adults and create a branding identity that reflected Mirror Health’s mission and vision.
In this case study, we describe our collaboration with Mirror Health to develop an elegant and functional health-tracking app while delivering a strong brand identity.
About Mirror Health
Mirror Health is a US company that designs wearable health devices focusing specifically on accessibility and user-friendliness.
Together with top medical specialists, they developed The Mirror Ring which offers health monitoring insights for the whole family. These include heart health, sleep, activity, stress, and other vital metrics. Based on this data, the smart device provides personalized health recommendations and sends alerts.
Our Challenge
Mirror Health turned to Flexy for two solutions:
- Developing a health-tracking app tailored for the older generation, who may have less familiarity with modern apps, while also being suitable for the entire family.
Creating a cohesive branding strategy with a distinctive logo and campaign page.
Solution
The client only had a rough idea of how the product would look, so our team had to develop a set of characteristics and benchmarks before starting the actual design.
As our goal was to create an app that’s not just functional but also welcoming for older adults, we came up with a list of the app features that included:
User-Friendly Interface

UX/UI Design
First of all, we designed the onboarding process to be smooth, straightforward, and require minimal technical skills.
To keep things simple, we minimized horizontal scrolling and used large, high-contrast fonts with clear buttons for better readability and easy interaction with the app.
As accessibility was one of our top priorities, we included features like color-coded indicators and simplified icons to support users with limited vision or dexterity.
We accommodated multiple family member profiles and made them easy to navigate.
The app's UI Kit enhances usability by featuring:
- Prominent Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons for critical tasks like syncing devices and accessing reports.
- Understandable icons that convey complex information at a glance.
Progress bars and guidance cues that lead users step-by-step through tasks like onboarding and health tracking setup.
App Screens and Data Indicators
Our team designed over 300 unique app screens, each offering:
- Clear data visualization through dynamic graphs and dashboards.
- Color-coordinated layouts for easy differentiation between metrics like heart rate, sleep patterns, and activity levels.
- A user-centric navigation system that minimizes confusion and enhances usability.
Each key health metric is displayed on its own dedicated page, featuring detailed graphs, trends, explanatory notes, alerts, and summaries. This organized layout ensures that critical information is easily accessible and doesn’t overwhelm the user.
The Mirror Ring Branding
We crafted a logo featuring an inverted infinity symbol, a sleek and modern design that embodies the idea of continuous, real-time health monitoring and seamless connectivity.
The flowing lines of the symbol represent the effortless interaction between the Mirror Ring and the app, emphasizing harmony, balance, and the infinite possibilities for users to stay connected to their health.
The minimalist style reflects the brand's commitment to simplicity and accessibility.
Results: App Performance
The results of our work speak for themselves: Mirror Health surpassed their monthly profit goal of $100,000 within the first 8 hours of launching the redesigned app!
